Tax Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant responsible for overseeing all aspects of state and local sales and use tax reporting, compliance, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, adept at analyzing information, completing necessary forms accurately, and ensuring timely filing with the appropriate agencies.
A Day in the Life...

• Responsible for all state & local sales and use tax reporting, compliance and planning including gathering and analyzing information, completion of appropriate forms and filing of those forms with the appropriate agency in a timely manner.
• Leads tax review of invoices in Accounts Payable workflow systems. Responds and resolves all sales & use tax inquires arising from US domestic plant locations.
• Performs state & local sales & use tax audit planning and defense during internal, external and government agency audits. Manages outside consultants that occasionally perform "reverse audit" services.
• Assists the Tax Manager and external tax counsel with IRS and other audits as requested.
• Accountable for the budgeting, payment, and reconciliation of all Massachusetts property tax bills.
• Gathers information in response to requests to assist in preparation of the US Federal tax return as well as state corporate income tax returns.
• Assist in budgeting and long-range planning projects and other projects as assigned.
• Prepares applicable account reconciliations and manages state annual report filing obligations.

What We Are Looking For:
Required

• Experience in all aspects of Corporate, State and Local Sales and Use tax matters
• Experience in Federal & Canadian tax areas
• Experience with the Federal and Local Audit process
• Capability to analyze and make decisions
• Strong multitasking and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management
• Ability to perform tax research and conclude findings
• Prior experience in Corporate Tax Department
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with RIA OneSource, SAP, and A/P Invoicing software

Education:
Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)
