Status: Exempt
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000
Role Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on, energetic, hospitality minded, sports-loving Assistant General Manager with a strong understanding of marketing and promotion who will be an outstanding leader. This position is responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the restaurant, banquet, and golf facility, including; guest satisfaction, employee relations, training and development, food and beverage quality, financial goals and all other aspects of operations.

Responsibilities:
Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings.
Oversee all aspects of the kitchen management in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
We will host the event in the side room. Guest list to come week of. Individuals will order off menu and drinks.
Work with General Manager is insure low COGs and stay within our budgets.
Management of associate performance including conducting regular feedback sessions and one-on-ones, drafting performance appraisals and coaching and counseling when needed
Assist with the recruitment process for new associates including position requisition management, conducting interviews and communicating offers to Human Resources
Manage associate payroll for Tap In Pub including timecard edits, PTO approvals and other adjustments necessary
Assist in schedule creation for Tap In Pub ensuring the schedule is posted and communicated according to required guidelines.
Create, recommend and implement promotions, displays, buffet presentations and ideas to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market.
Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the various Tap In areas and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service.
Assist with the creation and development of community outreach and marketing plans to penetrate new sales opportunities and maximize use within existing markets
Responsible for the development and delivery of ongoing training programs for new and existing associates
Coordination with the F&B, Sales, and Convention Services team for group events
Check for food quality and consistency.
Assist with the inventories and ordering for F&B liquor control.
Provide a positive, empowering, and productive work environment through setting an example and consistency of daily work habits and standards.
Instruct new hires and employees on the expectations and responsibilities for each of their roles.
Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services.
Maintain close and harmonious working relationships with all departments.
Analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints.
Fully understand all applicable emergency procedures and evacuations including fire, bomb threat, weather related instances, power failure, and injury to and illness of persons
Attend additional management trainings and meetings as required
Assume other responsibilities as indicated
Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
College graduate or equivalent work experience
Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service
BASSET or TIPPS certification preferred, Naperville BASSET strongly preferred
ServSafe Manager certification and Illinois Food Handler preferred
Experience
1 to 3 years of relevant Restaurant Management experience
Prior experience managing budgets, P&L’s, associate relations and marketing either in a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager capacity
Experience in managing sports bars, golf courses or other similar environments is strongly preferred
Micros experience preferred
Skills
Strong customer service, leadership and communication skills
Excellent verbal and written skills
Neat and clean appearance
Ability to work in a team environment
Must have problem solving abilities, and the ability to compute basic arithmetic
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and staffing levels
Financial responsibility of unit including budgets, P&L and cost controls
Ability to maintain exceptional quality of food and beverage
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven, demanding environment
Must be organized, self-motivated and proactive
*Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work nights weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill job duties.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
