Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver duties and responsibilities
Dump Truck Drivers deliver a variety of loads to a variety of places as well as trailering both Heavy and Light Equipment. Common Dump Truck Driver duties include:
- · Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspection reports
- · Hauling inert materials to and from jobsites
- · Loading and unloading Heavy and Light Equipment from trailers
- · Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle or on trailers
- · Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
- · Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- · Communicating and coordinating with Scheduling
- · Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- · Maintaining a detailed log of working hours for billing by job
- · Recording Loads originations and final destinations and paperwork daily recording of activities.
- · Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- · Reporting defects, accidents and violations
- · Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, greasing, cleaning, etc.)
- · Interacting with customers in a professional manner
- Typical work weeks are 50-55 Hours.
Pay Rate is based on experience, ability and ownership of individual and company values of CHARACTER / SAFETY / QUALITY / RELIABILITY. Also, each New Hire will have initially a 90 and 180 day review and then a review annually that are both frank and constructive as a means to a pathway to develop in the role and as a team member.
