Job description

Talent Sourcing Specialist (remote)

Staffing Advisors is a retained executive search firm that helps global and national nonprofits, associations, and social enterprises hire and retain exceptional leaders who get results. Our clients work to solve society’s most pressing problems, driving advancements in criminal justice reform, healthcare research and patient outcomes, equity in higher education, energy efficiency and sustainability, and more. We are seeking a process-oriented research analyst and sourcing professional with a high level of expertise in online and market research, strategic sourcing, and market and organizational mapping to develop top-tier and diverse candidate pools for our clients.

In this role, you will report to our Vice President of Strategic Recruiting and work closely with the Client Engagement Team with the support of our Research Coordinator. You’ll source approximately 150 qualified passive candidates for every search, at least 50 within 24 hours of each kickoff debrief (typically 1-2 weekly). You will exclusively work on active searches commissioned by our clients. Sharp, analytical thinking, an agile problem-solving approach, and a curiosity about various work environments will be central to your success. You will be a valued partner on our small, collaborative, highly specialized team; your expertise will be foundational to the data-driven decision support our clients rely on and respect.

We are deeply committed to reducing bias and advancing equity in hiring, helping clients build more diverse and inclusive teams through a competency-driven approach that produces consistently reliable results. We have refined this practice for almost 20 years; it is in our DNA.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You’ll identify 80% of the profiles we put forward as candidates to each client (other team members will handle the outreach). We will look to you to:

  • Embrace inclusive practices. You will source candidates through multiple paths, experimenting with combinations of relevant skills, experience, and resume credentials to develop the most inclusive pools possible. You’ll follow the tenets of our time-tested approach and ensure no groups are under or overrepresented in your sourcing process.
  • Develop custom sourcing strategies. Distill and synthesize information from search kickoff debriefs, translate client language into more broad and searchable keywords, build lists of relevant groups and organizations, create Boolean search strings, etc. Pivot search strategy as necessary to meet required sourcing goals.
  • Conduct market landscape analysis. Use organization and community mapping cross-referenced with market research to provide insight into the relative availability of skills vs. salary for each position. Suggest alternate approaches as needed.
  • Leverage the right technology. Use tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, HireEZ, ZoomInfo, Social List, and SourceWhale to implement the sourcing strategy. Develop an understanding of which tools are most effective in which contexts. Stay up to date on advancements to inform your approach.

Work Environment, Salary, and Benefits

  • You’ll enjoy a fully remote work environment with core meeting hours between 9-5 ET. Outside of client and team meetings, we encourage you to embrace the flexibility we have built into your role to use your time most effectively. When you need distraction-free time to work, you’ll have it. We provide all the technology and tools you need to create a comfortable and productive office at home. We have been a fully remote organization since our founding and intend to remain fully remote in the future.
  • We offer a competitive base salary of $80K—$100K, quarterly bonus potential, generous retirement contributions through a tax-advantaged profit-sharing plan, reimbursement for medical and vision coverage (ICHRA), and life and disability insurance. We offer generous time off, including an average of 25 paid company holidays (4-day weekends around federal holidays plus the week between Christmas and New Year's Day) plus 12 days of additional paid time off per year.
  • We value transparency and responsiveness with our clients, and that’s how we operate as a team. We deal with highly complex and novel issues in hiring but have efficient processes to work through them in a way that respects every team member’s time and contributions. We are an extremely collegial group—we like to work hard and laugh often.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment research, Talent Sourcing, market mapping, or a related function with expertise in Boolean search.
  • Experience working with hundreds (or more) of candidate profiles at a time.
  • Experience in recruitment and sourcing for a wide range of functional areas and career levels is preferred.
  • Experience in an agency or third-party setting, working with healthcare, scientific societies, nonprofits, and associations is preferred.
  • Staffing Advisors is operational in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Employees are required to reside in one of these states.
