Caterpillar’s Energy and Transportation (E&T) segment and Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) product teams deliver world class products across commercial and machine markets that bring the best value to our customers while achieving business commitments.  We are currently looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to be located at our Lafayette, IN facility. This is a key role on the Human Resources team supporting Talent Acquisition responsibility for an organization of more than 7,000 global employees within our Large Power Systems Division. Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager will lead a team of TA professionals in our Energy and Transportation Segment to identify, recruit, select and place qualified candidates for production and salaried/management positions. This position will have a heavy focus on production recruitment and strategy. The person in this role will develop the skills of Talent Acquisition professionals and implement Talent Acquisition programs while working closely with the TA Leadership team to ensure compliance and adoption of leading Talent Acquisition practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing, motivating and developing staff, maximizing individual contributions and supporting professional growth of our TA Partner and Coordinator team.
  • Managing full life cycle recruitment program to source, attract and select the best talent for Caterpillar while developing best practices that support organizational goal and efficiency.
  • The person in this role will work with a defined customer base to ensure the timely understanding of current and future workforce needs, evaluating and providing expertise on talent market availability and trends.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with local recruitment policies & processes. Apply understanding of local/country employment laws.

Skills Required:

  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.  Strong ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement. 
  • Influencing: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside of the TA Team.
  • Customer/Market Focus: Strong ability to research talent market priorities utilizing facts and data to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.  Deliver superior customer value consistently and within defined targets and service levels. 
  • Leadership: Demonstrated knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting goals and achieving objectives.  Strong ability to guide and influence the team to manage full life cycle recruitment activities. Strong ability to regularly develop TA strategies for critical areas of focus and present to business partners and customers.
  • Recruitment Channel Management: Extensive knowledge and experience leveraging various recruitment channels to consult and advise leaders to achieve ET organizational talent strategy. Utilizes market data and best practices to guide hiring managers on market challenges and opportunities.  
  • Workforce Analytics: Knowledge of human resources (HR) and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions. Ability to consistently create summaries/presentations of data and metrics to share with business partners and stakeholders.
