Job description

OBJECTIVE:
To provide Barona Valley Ranch Resort Hotel & Casino's staff members high quality uniforms by providing excellent on-going services. To sustain our competitive advantage by maintaining and upgrading the sophisticated professional image of staff in the resort and casino.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standing, sitting or walking for eight hours while working in large non-smoking rooms, warehouse, outside storage areas in extreme weather. There can be heavy customer traffic while working with uniform inventory, uniform fittings, alterations, and service deliveries and often under stressful conditions. Continuous and repetitive lifting of up to 35 lbs. to waist and 15 lbs above shoulders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting.
Works in a variety of areas, stations and duties on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. Able to work on BVR side when needed to cover and be able to perform all of the same duties of a Wardrobe Clerk.
Responsible for knowing complete and accurate information of all Wardrobe products and procedures in order to answer all questions from staff members.
Assists staff members with locker bags, uniform issue, uniform loan program, uniform transfers, uniform terminations, clean uniform pick up, uniform repairs and replacements. Respond timely to all of the staff members needs.
Engages co-workers and property wide staff members in a positive and upbeat manner
Have a good understanding of fabrics, design and construction
Communicates clearly and effectively in a pleasant voice with all staff members; makes eye contact and smiles at all times. Be approachable in body language and gestures.
Performs daily tasks and completes projects in a timely manner.
Completes accurate transactions and inputs them into computer. Knowing and completing all uniform transactions such as, but not limited to; uniform replacement, uniform repair, uniform increase or reduction; and places the completed paperwork in specifically designated areas
Maintains inventory stock at work stations, maintains a neat and orderly appearance of workstations at all times, including, but not limited to cleaning of workstations.
Inputs and updates staff member's uniform information and needs into computer database, while ensuring the highest level of data integrity and accuracy.
Has working knowledge of the different aspects of sewing, patterning, complete garment design and construction
Must have a working knowledge of apparel terminology; including reading and writing of said terminology
Assist new staff members and transfers with the fitting of uniforms using various methods (ie fit line, measurements, etc)
Custom fits each individual to ensure that the assigned uniform fits properly
Repairs or replaces damaged uniforms as needed; based on an individual basis
Maintains all machines in prime condition, performs daily maintenance including oiling; dust removal and needle changes
Performs monthly; an inventory of all supplies needed to perform all tasks related to this position
Reinforces seams, attach buttons, hooks, zippers, and accessories to maintain the uniform in excellent to good repair
Discards all uniforms and cut out any Barona logo's when the garment is no longer wearable
Ability to perform custom alterations, including coats, jackets, all aspects of tailoring, hems, sleeves, side seams, collars, waist bands, etc
Inspects uniforms returned from service providers for quality control. Separates unacceptable uniform items according to the standards set by the Wardrobe Department.
Reprints/replaces barcodes and labeling on all uniforms as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 18 years of age
Ability to operate industrial and domestic apparel equipment
Working knowledge of fabrics, garment design and construction
Excellent oral communication skills
Able to work flexible hours
Must be able to speak, read and write English
Computer skills at an intermediate level, knowledge of database and excel formats
Superior organizational skills
Good math and numerical filing skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Advanced Technical training
High School Diploma
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Two years work experience in a sewing industry related position
One year computer related position
Wardrobe or uniform experience a plus
ALTERNATIVE TO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Combination of experience and education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, stand or walk for eight hours
