Your Responsibilities
As a Tactical Quality Engineer, Tractor Cab & Assembly Operations (TCAO) for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Work with suppliers to contain quality issues in support of 24-hour containment of supplier quality issues with the business unit.
- Coordinate significant containment activities for both quality and design related issues with the business unit to ensure containment is complete.
- Initiate corrective action for recurrences significantly affecting First Pass Yield (FPY,) resulting in line down time or significant repair.
- Responsible for managing proper disposition and action of data related to supplier quality using SAP.
- Support Business Unit through internal initiatives, non-conformance communication and attendance at key meetings.

What Skills You Need
- 1 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, reliability, design, manufacturing, quality.
- 1 or more years of experience with Quality Engineering tools, systems, and databases (SAP, Windchill, RECON, Excel, MS Office Suite, etc.)
- 1 or more years of experience of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with cross functional teams in both verbal and written formats.
- Technical background through experience or education.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic manufacturing processes.
- Strong time management and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support business operations.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience using JDSN, MC20, PDM Link, Windchill, Creo View, and/or Stratawise.
- Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques (e.g., pareto charts, histograms, pie and bar charts and control plans).
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and executing corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Possess the ability to lead and effectively influence without authority.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Technology, or Science discipline or equivalent experience.
