TheSystem Test Engineer - Principal position in the Test Product & Technology Development group is unlike any other software and test position at other companies. As a Software Engineer and Product Technical Lead in Test Product & Technology Development group, you will be at the heart of TDK InvenSense's engineering process, leading MEMS Sensor development and support and building custom software that empowers engineering teams to develop and deliver high-quality world-leading sensor products quickly. We are focused on solving the toughest, most rewarding, and value-driven challenges of developing software at scale without undermining stability, quality, velocity, or code health.
We ensure TDK InvenSense's success by collaborating with engineering teams (ASIC, MEMS, etc.) and developing scalable tools and infrastructure that help engineers develop, test, debug and release software quickly. We impact the organization by increasing the pace of product development and ensuring our products are thoroughly tested and deliver the highest quality. In this role, you'll build tooling around development frameworks, write code for Sensor Test and Product Development, bring up new hardware platforms, get engaged in the backend test infrastructure, performance measurement, and optimization. You will work on complex projects with deep software and technology stacks and will be able to make an impact on the product and team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, strategies, and methodologies for MEMS ASIC testing and silicon bring-up.
- Define test objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure testability and identify areas for test automation.
- Lead efforts to automate tests and integrate them into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines specific to MEMS ASICs.
- Evaluate and implement testing tools and frameworks relevant to MEMS testing.
- Develop C# software test algorithms used for MEMS sensor calibration and qualification.
- Develop signal processing algorithms to process sensor data, such as FFT, FIR, and IIR
- Design and develop the sensor calibration algorithms of the digital signal path.
- Drive Systems Test documentation reviews and version control.
- Perform design for test reviews and make recommendations for test coverage improvement.
- Maintain code release and code reviews on tools like Bitbucket, GIT, and SVN.
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the MEMS ASIC Test Engineering team.
- Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including MEMS design, ASIC design, product managers, and quality assurance teams, to ensure alignment on testing objectives.
- Communicate MEMS ASIC test progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MS degree a minimum of 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Coding and debugging skills in one of the following languages C#, C , or C
- Experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzer, etc.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python
- Demonstrated academic or work experience in digital signal processing (DSP)
- Excellent technical and communication skills
- Excellent problem solver and critical thinker
- Knowledge of MEMS sensors is a plus
- Proven record of patents and inventions in digital signal processing are a plus
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $160,000.00 and $220,000.00 for San Jose, CA. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
For remote positions, the range may be lower dependent on location. This will be addressed during the recruitment conversation with the recruiter.
