z/OSSystems Programmer This position is part of a team of System z specialist supporting an environment containing three independent z/OS LPARs.
The environment contains, CICS, IMS, DB2 WMQ supporting a single application.
The mainframe also supports 130+ Linux servers running under z/VM. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining IBM and third-party products.
You will be responsible for managing RACF, both configuration and top-level administration.
You need to have experience leading a small team in completing projects.
You would need to be comfortable and capable of assuming the lead role for the System z team.
This Duties Include:
Installation and maintenance of software components on z/OS platform, IBM and third party.
Manage RACF configuration to meet customer's requirements.
Work with z/OS lead SYSPROG to develop mutual back to each other responsibilities.
Monitor z/OS platform performance and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Diagnose problems with z/OS software components and work with vendors to resolve the issue.
Assist other team members that need support with z/OS features and functions.
Work with team to maintain and test DR recovery processes.
Document processes used to maintain and monitor z/OS platform.
Lead upgrade/maintenance activities for all z/OS Platform software.
Required Skills:
z/OS and JES2 software maintenance (10+ years)
RACF Configuration and System Administration (5+ years)
z/OS SNA and TCPIP configuration (5+ years)
Assembler language coding (5+ years)
REXX language coding (5+ years)
Omegamon installation and configuration (5+ years)
Strong verbal communication and experience in consulting with senior business SMEs to elicit requirements.
Strong written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
