We are implementing a Digital Transformation across the enterprise over the next 3 years, which will enable us with faster product and service acquisition timelines, better access to data by engineers and manufactures, and actionable, reusable information for decision makers at all levels.
The Corporate Office is seeking a senior Systems Engineering Integration and Test Manager to support our Digital Transformation efforts for our next generation Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. The person hired will lead a cross sector / multi-discipline team and apply Systems Engineering principals from the requirements development through Integration and validation testing to ensure our new NGPLM system meets the requirements. This will entail significant interaction with senior leaders at each Sector and major software suppliers to ensure capabilities meet adopting programs business need.
This position will allow for some telecommuting, but preferred candidate will be located near a major company location. (ie: Baltimore, MD; Melbourne, Fl; Redondo Beach, CA; Ogden, UT; Falls Church, VA)
Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in establishing and documenting requirements to meet cross sector program needs. Support the establishment and stand up of a Technical Review Board (TRB) to configuration control of requirements.
  • Establish and maintain test plans as capabilities are developed to ensure requirements have been met prior to deploying into production.
  • Support the development of the roadmaps for the PLM solution.
  • Support capability assessments to identify gaps in engineering capabilities, and plan and lead development of solutions to address gaps.
  • Build a team of systems engineers to develop the requirement and document process documentation of the Business Process Councils (BPC's) and appropriate user testing validation to ensure the vendor's Out of the Box (OOTB) capabilities and the CIO configurations meet the business needs.
  • Ensure sector roadmaps align with solution priorities and meet driving business needs across the sector.
  • Collaborate with Sector and Digital Transformation leaders to ensure Sector needs and priorities are met with the enterprise PLM solution.
  • Role model for cultural and NG best practices to drive openness and inclusion of external partner perspectives (under appropriate non disclosure agreements).

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience leading execution Systems Engineering, Integration and Test.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across sectors to understand best practices or to share learnings from local Sector initiatives.
  • Product Lifecycle Management experience from a development and user perspective.

Understanding of:
  • The internal organization and culture.
  • Digital trends and developments associated with Product Lifecycle Management that are impacting the industry more broadly.
  • The competitive landscape, market trends, and stakeholder needs.

Ability to:
  • Navigate a multidisciplinary technical environment to align many varied stakeholders to digital thread and digital twin objectives as it pertains to Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Partner and align with leaders cross-functionally on strategy.
  • Ability to travel to other Northrop Grumman sites (~25% target).
  • US Citizenship and secret clearance is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience understanding vendor capabilities and validation as it meets NG business processes and requirements.
  • At least 5 years' experience leading a multi-discipline team that leveraged advance digital technologies and processes associated with implementation of Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Multi-disciplinary experience across ideally 2 to 3 domains (e.g. Systems Engineering, software development, mechanical design, electrical design, configuration/data management, simulation, test, manufacturing planning, including reliability, safety, maintainability, availability, etc.
  • Ability to coach others throughout the organization to manage key elements of the transformation.

Salary Range: $152,100.00 - $264,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
