We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Configuration & Data Management Leadto join the team with our Engineering Division.
The Systems Engineering Configuration & Data Management (CM/DM) Lead will provide technical expertise to NASA's JSC engineering directorate for the development and implementation of processes and tools to execute configuration and Data Management on NASA in-house engineering projects.
This will include:

  • Development of configuration and Data Management project plans that are compliant with NASA policies and procedures
  • Ensure CM plans comply with CM policies of JSC and NASA
  • Identification of needed user training for existing and planned CM/DM tools (e.g., windchill)
  • Development of user training and guides to enable effective use of CM/DM tools for various size/scope of projects
  • Identification of best practices and promotion of replication across engineering activities
  • Serve as technical expert for consultation with engineering projects for all aspects of CM/DM
  • Perform other duties as required

Requisition Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products to accomplish documentation editing and revision
  • Experience working in configuration and document control on multiple small and medium projects
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and ability of configuration management tools through experience in the field
  • Must be able to accurately communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing

Requisition Preferences:
  • BA or BS degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college or university, with five years of relevant CM/DM experience
  • Experience with Windchill product suite
  • Prior experience with NASA documentation processes and procedures is a plus
  • Experience with hardware configuration management practices

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
