The Armament Software Engineering Center researches, develops and sustains advanced software products and services used by U.S. service members in Army weapons systems.
You will be part of a team of engineers who implement and improve the weapon system software for fielded Mortars and Artillery systems. Under direction, assist in all stages of the software lifecycle of moderately complex system software. Work effectively on several phases of systems/software programming/analysis with little direction, but may require some instruction and guidance for other aspects. May assist in the coding of protocol simulators, microcontroller and embedded software. Degree must be in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
In this role, you will:
- Develop low level software/firmware for Microcontrollers and other target platforms
- Develop desktop applications interfacing with embedded systems
- Implement encryption, messaging composition/decomposition, and interfacing to new sensors or systems
- Implement cybersecurity requirements supporting the hardening of ports, protocols, and services and vulnerabilities
- Develop and run test cases for unit/subsystem/system level integration
- Use automated testing frameworks to assist in system testing
Assist in development of Analog and/or Digital circuitry, and interfacing circuitry
- Develop technical documentation supporting the software development lifecycle
To be successful in this roll, you will have:
- A U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain/maintain Government CAC
- A Bachelors Degree in relevant field (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
- At least 2-4 years experience in the field of Embedded/systems software design and development using C/C++/C#, Java, Assembler, ADA, or other low level language. This cannot be substituted with web development experience.
- 2-4 years Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- An effective Communication skills to interface with other software teams or stakeholders
Additional desired experience and skills:
- 2-4 years Experience with of Diagramming software not limited to: Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, UML to document software design
- 2-4 years Experience with software testing / test cases, and automated frameworks
- 2-4 years Experience with Analog/Digital Circuit Design and Analysis using pSpice, ORCAD, or other software
- 2-4 years Experience with FPGA, VHDL, Assembler
- 2-4 years Experience with Networking communications (client/server/sockets/multi-threading)
- 2-4 years Experience with Real Time Operating Systems, Embedded C, Embedded Systems
- 2-4 years Experience with Android/iOT development
