Job Description:
- We are looking for someone who has worked on COTS (commercial off the shelf) applications.
- These applications are managed by the vendors, so along with supporting these applications in production environment by troubleshooting when there is any issue.
- Check services running on the server, look server logs, database logs etc. before going to vendor to get support in resolving the issues.
- Vendor management skills – working with the vendor or upgrading and patching current applications, setting the expectations right.
- Other than that, keep themselves up to date with the technology, who can add value by doing some research of their own and suggest pros and cons of a new vendor or application.
- Knowledge of basic application architecture, SAAS applications, Cloud applications etc. basic knowledge where server logs are, IIS logs.
- Basic SQL knowledge who can understand a SQL script if it is needed to run against the production system.
- Understand what that SQL script is doing what damage it could make?
- I have highlighted few items below that we look for other than above.
- Work with the client’s business partners to implement new enhancements from the analysis to implementation phases, while ensuring that thorough testing occurs
- Support business objectives and ensure alignment with existing and new solutions
- Partner with Business stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology deployments
- Partner with Project Management Office (PMO) Team and Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to serve as technical lead over business-critical projects
- Act as liaison between the Customer and Third-Party Vendors to support and enhance COTS and SaaS (Cloud)-Based systems
- Receive Incidents relating to system issues and outages
- Troubleshoot, interpret logs, document steps to reproduce software bugs, process problems or other issues which create application errors
- Produce timely Incident reports documenting system downtime
- Support identification of Root Cause Analysis
