System Engineer Manager

- Maintaining Operational Integrity of Tools and Systems: Oversees the maintenance and operational integrity of all assessment tools and systems, ensuring they are functioning optimally and are updated according to the latest security standards.
- Ensuring System Availability and Performance: Manages system performance to support uninterrupted assessment activities, including overseeing upgrades and patches to improve security and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in system engineering or IT operations, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, networking, applications, and performance management.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
Experience: Although this is a management role, hands-on experience is important to be able to assist the team when necessary. Server Administration
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Manage and support Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) with a focus on security and patch management.
Networking
- Design, implement, and manage network protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN.
- Troubleshoot and support physical or virtual networking devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Applications & Cloud Services
- Implement and manage Microsoft Office 365 services including Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.
- Support cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, ensuring optimal deployment and configuration of services such as EC2 and Azure Active Directory.
Security
- Implement security measures and troubleshoot using tools like Nessus for vulnerability scanning, adhering to OWASP guidelines.
- Manage and support endpoint protection and intrusion detection systems to ensure network security.
Virtualization & Containerization
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Support containerization with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and scaling.
Scripting & Automation
- Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell and Bash for task automation and system management.
- Implement automation workflows using Terraform and Ansible for efficient infrastructure provisioning.
Travel to DC will be required from time to time.
