Job Summary
Assists the Network Engineer and lead as appropriate in the responsibilities for the operational availability, and maintenance of the MUOS Voice Gateway (MVG) System as the program evolves in support of the DISA Teleport Program Office (TPO) and Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) Atlantic. This includes but is not limited to: Cisco Meeting Place and Cisco Call Manager installation, configuration, support, and administration. Analyzing voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks. Plans, evaluates, selects, and upgrades operating systems and protocol suites to include configuring communications with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. A background in Secure Voice network protocols is required.
Telework is supported at 10% (occasional). Travel is required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assists in planning network layouts and configuring systems to user environments. Analyzes network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements and supports the acquisition of hardware and software as needed. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to users and performs network administration duties. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology i.e. Cisco routers, software, etc. as required. Experience with Cisco Unity Voice Mail installation, configuration, support, and administration is highly desired. Also, SIP, BGCP, and H.323 protocols, Voice Gateway and Gatekeeper installation and administration, Cisco ASA /PIX installation and configuration, IP Telephony Solution Design and support, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Exchange in an IP telephone environment. MVG System Analyst will be required to have access to a secure lab, Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) certification is required and can be obtained when hired. The MVG System Analyst should be familiar with the use of CISCO Smart-Net for vendor communications.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in MS Office Products, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project. Extensive experience in Network Design, Cisco network routers, switches, and CISCO Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)/ Call Manager configurations and troubleshooting. Windows servers, VMware configurations, and troubleshooting Possession of CompTIA Security + CE certification. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Voice Gateways/Gatekeepers. SQL database experience is a plus as well (SQL queries, backups/restores). Secure Voice Protocols. Working/operations level experience with Satellite Communications (SATCOM).
Education Requirements
Technical Training in Secure Voice and VoIP Networks
Certifications
Security + CE REQUIRED. CCNA or CCNP is helpful.
