Join the ASEC team at NAWS China Lake, CA as a Junior System Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an important DoD program that has a direct impact on our nation's Warfighter. This is a junior role that will offer you valuable experience and growth potential. Please note: we are looking to fill this position in December 2023. This is a 100% on-site position - not eligible for telework.
What you'll do:
With the guidance of our more senior System Administrators, you will:
- Assist in the Implementation of operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
- Help administer boundary devices (i.e., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems)
- Perform vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated benchmarks
- Correct flaws and implement technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment
- Manage DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS)
Requirements
Who you are:
The following education and experience are required for this position. If you believe you have some, but not all, of the requirements listed here, please still apply!
- Associate's Degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or Information Assurance/Cybersecurity technology field. In lieu of a degree, 3 years of experience as a computer/server administrator is acceptable
- 3 years of experience as a computer/server systems administrator
- 3 years of experience implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
- Experience with, or exposure to, conducting vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks
- Some experience or exposure to DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS)
- Familiarity with the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP)
- Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M. (i.e. A+cE, Network+CE, SSCP & Vendor certification, and an IT Training Provider certificate for computing environment main operating system.)
Due to the classified nature of this work, this position is not eligible for remote or telework.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for this position will be $85,000 - $105,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. This range is given as an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
