Senior System Middleware Administrator (Infrastructure as Code)
About the Opportunity:
The Foundation Middleware team has an immediate opening for a Senior System Middleware Administrator. Our team builds and supports shared messaging services/solutions for our bank district customers.
This position will work directly with the Messaging team and is responsible for evaluating and implementing solutions to on-board, build and deploy enterprise shared messaging solutions in the Cloud and on-Prem. You will work cross-functionally with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Design Engineers, Developers and Business Analysts in a rapidly evolving environment, identifying solutions, building, and implementing Infrastructure as Code using our CI/CD pipeline.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as subject matter expert on IBM MQ/IIB/ACE/MuleSoft, includes technical assistance to application developers on Middleware related problems.
- Demonstrate automation as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to increase build efficiency in the cloud.
- Understand technology vision and strategic direction of business needs.
- Production support 24/7 for a week, at least once a month
- Assess and make recommendations of best-practice solutions and/or new middleware and web technologies that will enhance the capabilities of the existing infrastructure.
- Participate product roadmaps in alignment with other middleware/cloud products and business roadmaps.
- Participate in designing integrated solutions with design patterns, blueprints, guidelines, and standard methodologies for products.
- Assist in developing architecture and design conceptual solutions by incorporating cloud native and 3rd party vendor products.
- Participate in research and perform POCs (proofs of concept) with emerging technologies and adopt industry best practices, in the middleware space, for cloud migration and hybrid solutions.
- Successfully troubleshoot production issues application developers can't resolve; may include writing build and deployment scripts.
- Support both rehydration and HA along with emerging processes and technologies
- Assist the development of validation and certification processes through automation tools.
- Demonstrate collaboration on projects and initiatives as a team member.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience developing Infrastructure as Code for AWS.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate (or) AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Subject matter expertise in Python, Shell Scripting and Terraform.
- Demonstrates mutual respect, embraces diversity, and acts with authenticity.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Subject matter expertise in IBM Middleware products like MQ/ACE and MuleSoft
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; advance degree preferred.
- 3+ years in design/support of MQ/IIB/ACE Middleware solutions
- Experience with other AWS middleware solutions including various compute and storage offerings.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
