Job description

The Senior Vice President, Construction (VP) will partner with key leadership teams to develop and implement global strategies, functions and systems to facilitate the achievement of the company's strategic directions and initiatives. The SVP actively participates on the company's management team and plays a leadership role in the global community, with responsibilities for North America region.
The responsibilities for the Senior Vice President, Construction:

  • Support the overall strategic orientation of Vestas, AME
  • Safety - Ensure safety performance and focus in both Vestas' employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the performance of the project portfolio, by constantly monitoring the projects key performance indicators, to guarantee financials, time, quality and safety
  • Drive construction scope increase (EPC)
  • Cash collection according to payment schedules, developing the required meeting and negotiations with customers to ensure revenues and cash targets every quarter.
  • Contract Management securing the right communication with customers and suppliers, managing claims properly, coordinating and assessing potential claims with Legal.
  • Quality Management securing the right culture of quality, coordinating with other functions any quality improvement needed.
  • Risk Management by continues assessment of the project portfolio, developing solutions together with all the internal and external stakeholders.
  • People Management by defining the right organization, right people, right competences and resources to meet short, mid and long-term construction goals.
  • Customer management participating in meeting with key customers, participating in marketing and technical events representing AME management team.
  • Supplier management in coordination with Procurement team, ensuring that our suppliers have the right competences, safety & quality culture and ethics.
  • Ensure that projects communication is adequately handled internally and externally.
  • Guarantee the right reporting and forecasting of time progress and financial performance of each project with transparency, reliability and accuracy.

Requirements:
  • The qualified candidate will be an experienced profile with significant business and management experience, ideally gained in a business of similar complexity.
  • Experience with working in an international environment.
  • Experience with managing complex contracts (EPC), etc.
  • Experience with customer management,
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and lead complex, cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of Commercial business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and encourage innovation management efforts to promote adoption of new processes, and industry best practices and solutions.
  • English should be mastered fluently, both orally and in writing. Other languages are an absolute advantage.
  • A relevant business or engineering education at Master Level is required with a vast understanding of financials linked to project execution
