The Sustainability Coordinator is a key component of building infrastructure and curriculum that supports the Sustainability track within the Environmental Science degree. This position is the connector between faculty, students, and regional professionals on the latest sustainable food systems information. The Sustainability Coordinator will be in charge of management and increasing of all growing spaces on the FDLTCC campus, support of students using the spaces, and support of Sustainability faculty as they use FDLTCC growing spaces for coursework.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent amount of education and applicable professional work experience.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply and follow institutional, system and State policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations in the academic environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with the internal and external college and community including students, peers, key contacts, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, decision making, coordinating and communicating sufficient to support Sustainability program and student outreach.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on sustainable agricultural/harvest activities.
  • Experience creating sustainability educational outreach.
  • Experience mentoring college students.
  • Knowledge on sustainability issues facing tribal lands.
  • Experience working with grants.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State's Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be require to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
