Summary
The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for supporting the DCHA sustainability team in analyzing energy performance and developing strategic sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency projects. The Sustainability Analyst work will focus on 1) Reporting: site and portfolio reports from data management systems regarding energy consumption and projected consumption based on conservation opportunities; 2) Energy Analysis: analyze properties within the portfolio for trends and anomalies in energy consumption; 3) Sustainability Analysis: analyze waste, recycling, and water trends. This position will also support program development and implementation, and grant and HUD reporting for electrification/efficiency programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manages utility data gathering from a range of sources, maintain completeness and accuracy of utility data, property data, etc. in databases to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting.
- Identifies anomalies and perform gap analysis of the energy & sustainability data and work with client to include corrective actions, including measures which improve the efficiency of data capture.
- Conducts utility billing analysis to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement, energy conservation opportunities, and potential cost reduction, evaluate financial and environmental benefits, and performance of installed projects.
- Performs data analysis and calculations to produce monthly, quarterly and annual energy, environmental and sustainability reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributes to data collection and analysis efforts to develop key sustainability metrics by collaborating with other DCHA team members on field and data collection.
- Collaborates with other DCHA team members on the development of sustainability initiatives and programs with a focus on financial analysis and capital investment.
- Analyzes market trends, partners, and technologies to improve program delivery
- Provides support to the Sustainability Program Manager on each account to provide the necessary energy and sustainability metrics that are being tracked.
- Contributes in creation and implementation of energy & sustainability management strategy.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degrees in business, sustainability, environment, communications, policy or related fields with 3+ year(s) of work experience within sustainability, electrification, energy efficiency, data analysis, consulting, policy or related experience or Master’s degree.
Due to field responsibility, incumbent must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's permit; and be able to meet DCHA requirements to be placed on DCHA's approved driving list, within 30 days of the date of appointment to this position.
