CHASSIS SUSPENSION SERIAL PRODUCTION QUALITY - TEAM ENGINEER
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Team Engineers will be responsible for addressing product and process quality issues firsthand at the NA locations described in the General Overview section of this document.The Engineers will be required to participate in the issue discovery, collect the necessary data and measurements from the vehicle, and move forward with issue root cause analysis with the assistance of reactive quality tools. The STLA GIMs issues tracking system will be used to identify and track issue root cause, containment, and corrective actions.The engineer will investigate quality issues with the support of the Team Leader, and the Chassis Suspension core team.The Engineer will develop design & process actions to contain the issues found.The Engineer will prepare the permanent corrective actions with the approval of the Team Leader and STLA Core team.Those actions will be summarized in a CCD document to be prepared by the Team Leader.Further Change Management will be the responsibility of the STLA Chassis Core Team.The Engineer will also be responsible for on-going review and quality assurance of the manufacturing and assembly processes used at the STLA assembly plants and Tier 1 Modular and Product suppliers for the Suspension components and systems.The Engineer will be required to prepare summary reports for presentation to the STLA Assembly Plant warranty tables, and to Chassis leadership at weekly design reviews.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in any of the following: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Agricultural, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Materials, Mechanical, or Metallurgical or equivalent from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university.
- 1 to 5 years of Vehicle Engineering experience.
- Awareness of Design/Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Awareness of Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Awareness of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reactive Problem Solving.
- Vehicle system/component design experience.
- General understanding of NX (STLA CAD Platform) and Teamcenter (STLA Product Data Management System).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to embrace teamwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
