Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced UAV Survey Technician in our Southborough, MA office. Essential Functions:
- Perform flights while adhering to standard flight operations and safety policies
- Perform registration, data extraction and plan preparation
- Create survey plans from UAV photography and aerial lidar data
- Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points
- Drafting of the following plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D:
- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Boundary, Topographic & Location Surveys
- Coordinate flights and deliverables with survey team
- Quality Control of all deliverables and data acquisition
- Reviews, schedules, and budgets with UAV Operations Manager/Branch Manager
- Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge within CAD drawings as related to:
- Layer management
- Point management
- Survey database management
- Drawing scales as they relate to text, dimensions, viewports, etc.
- Plotting & plot scales, pen tables, etc.
- Accountable for plan presentation
- Ability to coordinate flight schedules, airspace, resources, and other aspects of flight operations.
- Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization.
- Must possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients.
- Travel required
- Weekend work may be required
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- FAA Part 107 Certificate required
- UAV flying and technical experience required
- 1-3 years of experience in UAV flight operations preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, knowledge of field survey operations and UAV operations
- Pix4D and Cyclone Experience a plus
- Must possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills
- Ability to operate a computer, using technical software and other applications, spreadsheets, and other business software.
