Ayoroa Simmons is a leading provider of end to end surveying and Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for the AEC industry. One of the fastest growing segments of our firm is the Reality Capture Division which places a strong emphasis on geomatics practice. We are looking for a motivated individual with a solid background in geomatics engineering, land surveying or related field to join our field team as a Geomatics Survey Party Chief. The Geomatics Survey Party Chief will collect field data according to established standards and support the production of survey deliverables. They will support survey planning, design, and execution. This role will work directly with the PLS, survey team, project managers, engineering, field crews, and clients to achieve project goals. The Geomatics Survey Party Chief will work with a variety of survey equipment and technologies to include conventional survey, GNSS, point clouds from terrestrial and aerial LIDAR and photogrammetry datasets.
Responsibilities
- Complete As-built, Boundary, Title, and Topographic Surveys.
- Conduct topographic surveys, field checking, and field data collection.
- Layout and marking of construction sites.
- Maintain clear and concise notes and be adept at note reduction.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Responsible for the upkeep of all Company equipment.
- Act as a representative of the Company when meeting with clients and public landowners.
- Guide, train, and supervise crew members, ensuring optimal team performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of time logs and expense activity.
- Adhere to and be proficient in OSHA and safety regulations.
- Adapt to changing work conditions and tasks as needed.
- Open to travel as assigned.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying.
- Mastery of fundamental surveying principles, including mathematics and basic science applications.
- Advanced understanding of precision survey measurement techniques.
- Expertise in the use, maintenance, and calibration of precision surveying instruments.
- Mastery in traditional and modern mapping, drafting, and surveying techniques.
- Adeptness in both plane and geodetic surveying mathematical procedures.
- Proficiency in the State Plane Coordinate System application.
- Experience with photogrammetric mapping procedures.
- Working knowledge of boundary determination principles, land title research, and surveying practices.
