Farnsworth Group is seeking a Survey Designer – ORD (OpenRoads Designer) in one of our Colorado offices (Colorado Springs, Durango, Fort Collins, or Greenwood Village). In this role, you will be working on several multi-discipline projects simultaneously. You will prepare drawings for all types of survey plans, including but not limited to, ALTA surveys, Transportation Right-of-Way Plans, Parcel Ownership Maps, TMOSS topo surveys, and all types of easement drawings and annexation plans.
Job Activities:
- Determines survey criteria, drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches and notes obtained from standard calculations.
- Determines survey criteria, drawing sequence, and presentation, under direct supervision,
- Performs routine technical duties and assists in development of projects.
- Develops survey concepts; prepares documents during survey development phase.
- Corrects and updates survey documents.
- Develops solutions to survey issues.
- Supervises and mentors less senior staff members.
- Notifies supervisor of current workload to ensure work is spread evenly across staff.
- Ensures work projects are complete and accurate to assist in the firm’s success.
Specific Requirements include:
- Associate or Technical Degree with a focus in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) preferred
- 4+ years of experience in Land Survey or the drafting of survey plans preferred.
- Experience with MicroStation required.
- Civil3D and OpenRoads experience required
- Knowledge of CDOT survey standards and TMOSS preferred.
- Previous topographic, construction layout, and boundary survey experience preferred.
- Experience with ArcGIS a plus

Salary Range: $64K – $94K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
