Position: Survey Crew Chief - Building & Site Services
Location: Edwardsville, IL
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), a planning, engineering, and consulting firm, is actively seeking to add a talented, Survey Crew Chief to our Edwardsville, IL Building & Site Services team to support our clients and have a hand in transforming the communities we serve.
As a Survey Crew Chief taking a lead role of survey personnel on private and public projects, the successful candidate will work closely with clients, the general public, and co-workers to perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, interpret and prepare legal descriptions, stake right-of-way, utility easements, and other surveying duties while maintaining and adhering to industry standards as well as internal QA/QC procedures/note-taking.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties will include planning, organizing, and directing activities of survey personnel's work assignments, conducting research and analysis of data such as property descriptions, maps, plans, records, ties, etc., to carry out assignments in a professional manner and according to the law. Further, duties will require you to work closely with project managers to ensure survey projects are completed to project requirements and specifications as identified in work orders and construction plans.

Further, duties will require you to work closely with project managers to ensure survey projects are completed to project requirements and specifications as identified in work orders and construction plans.
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional land surveying experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills, plus math and computer skills, to include proficiency in MS Office Suite and with discipline-specific equipment including Trimble GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Stations, and Trimble survey controllers
- Candidate must be reliable, dependable, responsible, and self-motivated
- For specific clients, candidates must be able to pass a drug alcohol screen
- Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Position will require travel to job sites and overnight travel on occasion, but the focus will be the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or related field
- Surveyor-In-Training or a Professional Land Surveyor registration
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak
- Proficient with IDOT/MODOT Standards/Code Lists and survey requirements
- UAS Remote Pilot License or desire to obtain
