Job Description
Clinical instructor to scheduled, assess students in the clinical component of learning. Position will also entail assisting instructors in the lab and maintaining the lab environment and supplies.To support student success, clinical affiliates, faculty, and staff associated with the Surgical Technology program. To prepare qualified students of all ages and backgrounds to earn a National Certificate in Surgical Technology and to seek employment as an entry level surgical technologist. To help students achieve their professional goals, enhance life-long learning and promote excellence in Surgical Technology and contribute to the vitality and quality of life in the community.
This is a twelve month position; operating at 36 hours per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this position is $49,000.00-$55,000.00. Salary will commensurate with education and experience. The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. For more information, please visit www.dhrm.virginia.gov.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program with a minimum of a certificate of in Surgical Technology
  • Current NBSTSA credential as a Certified Surgical Technologist CST
  • Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in Surgical Technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Surgical Technology
  • Teaching experience in Surgical Technology

Travel as per any required duties of the position, such as to sites/campuses and any training. Ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region as necessary for the job is required.
