Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Clinical skills to perform the job duties of an operating room Tech.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation
- Aptitude for the understanding, use of, and troubleshooting of machines and equipment
- Must have an understanding of the proper use of high-speed autoclaves and sterilization techniques
Physical guidelines include ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours per day; bend, stoop, twist; assist patients in turning, rising from recliners and stretchers, assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, push wheelchairs, and assist with the moving of patients on and off the operating room table. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
We function on a 10 hour shift. There is no call, week-ends or holidays but the candidate must be willing to stay over if necessary. Duties include but not limited to picking cases, preparing the OR, scrubbing, turning the rooms over between cases, stocking and updating preference cards. The candidate must be able to work well under stress and as a member of the team.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
