SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA
- Full Time
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, Surgical Technologists or operating room technicians.
- Certification: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- Possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operating room technician.
- ExperienceMinimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a Surgical Technologist within the preceding 2 years, including experience assisting Main Operating Room surgeons (to include but not limited to OB/GYN, Orthopedic, Pediatric, and Urology).
- Additional requirement: Undergo ocular examination to establish baseline ocular function as appropriate to the occupational laser risk associated with the position. The examination will be provided by the Government.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
- Certifications: BLS certification hands on course
- U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
- English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
