Certified Surgical Technologist

Covenant Physician Partners is hiring a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist at St. Vincent Eye Surgery Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.
About the Opportunity
Under general direction from Center Manager and the supervision of the Surgeon, the Certified Surgical Technologist works to deliver safe and effective care during invasive and noninvasive procedures.
Please note the pay range for this position is$25/hr. - $30/hr.
Essentialduties and responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for procedures according to physician preferences, including cleaning, sterilization, and proper storage.
• Inspect, clean, and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment to maintain safety standards.
• Follow aseptic techniques and operating room protocols, including maintaining a sterile environment during preparation.
• Report and address any breaks in sterile technique observed during procedures.
• Assist surgeons using knowledge of anatomy, procedures, and instruments.
• Wash, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and equipment according to guidelines.
• Maintain logs for equipment processing in line with infection control protocols, including monitoring autoclaves and cleaning solutions.
• Ensure proper processing, packaging, sterilization, and storage of items to maintain sterility.
• Ensure availability of instruments and supplies during procedures and assist with patient positioning and specimen collection.
• Aid in rescue and resuscitation efforts as needed and assist in patient preparation and communication for procedures.
• Handle specimens appropriately and provide accurate information for labeling.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and assist with cleaning, restocking, and managing supply inventory.
• Assist with patient transport and discharge and recognize and implement safety precautions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including clerical and recordkeeping tasks.
• Maintain National Board of Surgical Technology certification and participate in quality assurance, infection control, and safety programs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous material exposure and safety data sheet locations.

About the Candidate

• Graduate of an accredited organization for Surgical Technologists*.
• Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting* (if in accordance with state law).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing.
• Previous healthcare experience in any capacity.
• Current certification of BLS.
