Qualifications Job Summary: Performs surgical radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Surgical Radiologic Technologist reports to the Manager, Perioperative Services. Job Specifications: Performs surgical radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures at the request of a licensed practitioner Selects and operates radiography equipment, imaging, and associated accessories to perform non-invasive procedures Prepares, immobilizes, and positions patients and equipment to demonstrate anatomical area of interest Determines and evaluates radiographic technique exposure factors to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others Provides direct patient care, communicates needs to providers and evaluates outcomes Practices aseptic techniques Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography and surgical procedures Communicates with all healthcare providers to assure quality of care Ensures completion of the study and posting to PACS Maintains quality control and quality assurance for the assigned area Properly identifies patient prior to performing examinations Evaluates radiographs or images for technical quality with proper recording of identification Reports any equipment malfunctions; documents in the proper system Participates in quality assessments and improvement plans Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction Assist team members as requested or required Participates on committees/councils and performance improvement activities as requested/required Successful completion of probation and annual skills/competency requirements Practices within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries Maintains expertise in the area Serves as a role model by demonstrating positive team-based behaviors Shows commitment to personal professional growth through the pursuit of advanced knowledge and skills Performance of duties will follow all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations Performs other related duties as assigned or requested Contributes to the daily operations of the department by performing other roles as needed Required Qualifications: Education: Associate's Degree Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiographic program Licensure: Certificate by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist in radiography, or registry eligible (must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists within 90 days of employment) and valid Mississippi Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) Licensure Experience: One (1) year of experience as a registered Radiologic Technologist Preferred Qualifications: Licensure: Advanced registries Experience: One (1) year of surgical experience as a registered Radiologic Technologist Customer Service Agreement I have read the Customer Service Agreement for providing excellent customer service and representing Memorial.
