Surgical Assistant

VetSurg is looking for someone interested in joining our highly skilled surgical team focused on safety andquality veterinary surgical care. In the role of Surgical Assistant, Vetsurg provides the opportunity to learn skills in all aspects of veterinary surgical care including but not limited to the following:

 Set up surgery rooms for simple, standard, and complex surgical procedures.

 Use and care of sterilizing equipment.

 Instrument identification, proper use, and applications.

 Use and care of advanced surgical equipment such as arthroscopic, battery-powered, and air-driven equipment.

 Aseptic technique, sterile field awareness, and surgical room etiquette.

 Patient draping for soft tissue, orthopedic, oncological, and minimally invasive procedures.

 Assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure.

 Assisting with post-operative diagnostics/treatment such as radiographs and bandage placement.

 Patient transport to and from the appropriate departments.

 Surgery room breakdown and disinfection.

The Surgical Assistant is crucial to the procedural flow by performing tasks safely and efficiently. Multi-tasking and time management are essential.

Qualifications

 High School Diploma or High School Equivalent.

 Veterinary Experience: Helpful but required.

 Surgical nursing experience: Helpful but required.

 Multi-tasking and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
