About Albemarle Eye Center: Dr Jitendra Swarup and the vision care experts at Albemarle Eye Center provide a wide range of ophthalmic services in the Edenton, Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington locations. We are pleased to offer services ranging from LASIK laser eye surgery, LenSx® Laser Cataract Removal, oculoplastics, glaucoma treatment, in addition to routine eye exams and contact lens fittings. Job Summary: Surgical Counselors are responsible for educating patients on all surgery including cataract surgery options and LASIK procedures. They act as a liaison between the patient, surgeon, clinic staff, and surgical facility in all aspects of the surgical scheduling process. Schedules all patient surgery, pre-operative, and post-operative appointments. Reviews all surgical fees related to the procedure. Develops and distributes the weekly surgical schedule to key departments. They are responsible to continually monitor and the schedule looking for inefficiencies and attempts to organize the surgery schedule by filling surgery vacancies and rescheduling patients as needed. Counselors should make job related decisions and establish work priorities with limited supervision

- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with patients, physicians, and staff
- Excellent customer service skills are a must
- Ability to manage multiple, ongoing tasks while maintaining professional composure
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalency is required
- Experience in Ophthalmology (preferred)
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position located in Kinston, NC
- Travel to other locations may be required.
