Surface Maintenance Specialist

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1254000 and is part of the NJ G4 SMM, National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32 Excepted Service position.
The primary purpose of the work is to analyze and evaluate maintenance operations, production, and procedures; and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Must have the following experience(s):

• Knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings
• Using specifications and test instruments
• Making computations, and keeping records
• Using computer and automation systems

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have 24 months of the following experience(s):

• Applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facilities, or service operations
• Designing projects or planning assignments
• Using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc.
