The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Liberty Mutual Surety has an awesome opportunity for an ambitious and analytical summer intern - like you - to join our Portfolio and Risk Management Team.
The details
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Surety business, including key contract and commercial underwriting concepts and the various factors which can impact the credit worthiness of a risk.
  • You will support client focused macroeconomic, construction, and infrastructure research for our Contract Surety and Sub-Contract Default Insurance (SDI) product lines, leveraging data from various sources to provide transformative and insights. Utilizing sophisticated analysis, you will identify new ways to recognize trends and produce actionable intelligence and reports for Senior and Executive Management
  • Engage in activities to incorporate analytics to assist with streamlining automation through tools and processes.
  • Gain exposure to the Surety business by participating in our exciting intern program activities.

Qualifications
What you've got
  • You are pursuing a bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or comparable with at least one semester remaining following the Summer of 2024 with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • You are seeking an opportunity that may convert to full-time upon graduation
  • You are developing analytical, statistical, quantitative, qualitative, and decision making skills.
  • You have strong technical skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel. Prefer PowerBI, database and reporting tool experience.
  • You have outstanding organizational, attention-to-detail, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • You adapt easily to different cultures and communication styles, and value a diverse work environment.
  • You're eager to share ideas and are seeking a career where growth is expected and team members are all valued.
