POSITION TITLE: Supportive Housing Specialist
REPORTS TO: Supportive Housing Site Coordinator
EFFECTIVE DATE: October 26, 2023
FLSA STATUS: Full Time 35 to 40 hours per week
LOCATION: .Float between 3 sites within the City of Delaware.
I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is with Del-Mor Dwellings Corp., a non-profit developer and manager of Supportive Housing for persons living with disabling mental illness. The Supportive Housing Specialist serves on a team dedicated to offering safe, stable, healthy living environments that supports independent living for residents living with disabling mental illness. We are currently in need of a full-time person that can be flexible and supportive with staffing needs. Del-Mor provides on-site coverage that includes first, second and third shift positions. The opprotunity for overtime and holiday pay does exist is available as needed by the organization.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties of the position will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop familiarity and constructive relationships with residents in a manner which builds trust and shared concern for the well being of all who work, live, or visit multiple staffed housing sites in Delaware, Ohio.
- Maintain an awareness of the activities of residents and visitors at the property and promote conduct which assures safety for residents, guests and staff.
- Exercise sound judgment consistent with established procedures and training when responding to situations with visitors or residents that require staff intervention.
- Serving as a source of support, empathy, and sound guidance for residents as they seek to derive benefit from residing at this Supportive Housing site and comply with lease requirements.
- Delivering enhanced Direct Support with activities of daily living, sometimes including such things as: preparation of meals, prompts, and skill building assistance in the daily maintenance of their living units, offering reminders for appointments and medication self-administration, and facilitating the development of positive neighbor relationships within the building’s shared living setting.
- Acting as a healthy lifestyle role model, while encouraging residents at Del-Mor to engage in activities at home and in the greater community which are enjoyable and promote wellness.
- Communicating and cooperating with other agency staff in a manner that promotes a spirit of teamwork and shared responsibility for achieving identified program and resident outcomes.
III. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Coursework/prior work experience in behavioral health care setting or related caregiving field is strongly preferred, but not required.

- Personal & employment references which demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- High school graduate & reliable transportation required.
IV. SHIFT HOURS AVAILABLE: 35 -40 HOURS PER WEEK
- Hours: This position will provide coverage at possibly three locations within hte city limits of Delaware, Ohio. Primary hours will be focused on second shift and weekend coverage.
