SalaryBeaverbrook STEP Inc., a human service corporation committed to providing progressive residential and day supports to adults with developmental disabilities, has several new employment opportunities. These opportunities are within our rapidly expanding day services modules in the town of Belmont and Watertown.
Employment Director:As part of the senior management team, will oversee community-based employment services including: supporting individuals’ career goals through vocational assessment and planning, job development and placement, and maintaining ongoing support. Development of vocational curriculum and resources for individuals and staff. Provide training and support for vocational staff and facilitate employment-related team meetings. Provide support for vocational staff through consultation, training, and mentoring.
The ideal candidate must be committed to providing exceptional vocational supports to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a day program setting or community based work or volunteer placement. Provide necessary support to enable individuals to acquire and maintain community based employment in business and industry. Support provided may include job development, one-to-one training to clients as well as ongoing supervision to ensure acquisition of job related skills/responsibilities and facilitating/developing positive relations between the consumer, the consumer’s coworkers and employer. Assist individuals to access assistive technology and adaptive equipment to enhance their employment skills.
We are looking for a caring and dynamic team member, who is eager to lead, teach skills aimed at independence, job readiness and community inclusion and provide a bridge between the individual and the community for sustained success.
Experience in vocational rehabilitation or Supported Employment programs preferred. Must have a solid understanding of the entitlements and benefits available to adults with ID/DD. Strong time management and organizational skills. All applicants must be able to become First Aid, CPR, MAP and Safety Care certified. A valid driver's license is mandatory. The candidate must be willing to drive their own or company vehicles to work/volunteer sites.
Our starting salary is $25-$30 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
