The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Supply Technician and installation focal point for the supply operations regarding all HAZARDOUS MATERIALS within the installation, which entails the documentation of all user-made purchases, initiating purchases, and finding non-hazardous alternatives. Responsibilities Plans and organizes activities within the Hazardous Materials Pharmacy (HAZMART) Element, ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and meets customer needs.

Inspects and advises activities involved in ordering, receiving, and storing HAZARDOUS MATERIALS covered under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) tracking requirement, the OSHA Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM) Standard, and all Class I and Class II Ozone Depletion Substance (ODS). Represents Logistics Readiness Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Provides customer assistance related to maintaining HAZARDOUS MATERIALS property accounts and records by completing individual transactions such as processing issue requests and turn-ins, screening reference files, conducting data searches, generating special data reports, and distributing output files.

Monitors the use of the Air Force Integrated Logistics Systems-Supply (ILS-S) and the Air Force Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health-Management Information System (EESOHMIS). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, techniques, work methods, supply functions and operations, reference material, and program requirements for performing such duties as requisitioning and issuing equipment and/or parts; Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and general office administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, techniques, work methods, supply functions and operations, reference material, and program requirements for performing such duties as requisitioning and issuing equipment and/or parts. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and general office administrative and clerical procedures. Skill and ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements; and to conduct extensive searches for information and to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as environmental regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to resolve HHMP/supply issues. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
