Logistics Analyst
Start: ASAP
Location: Charlotte, NC
Position Type: Contract (W-2)
Project Length: 3 months to start, likely to extend
Work Site: Onsite
Pay: 20.00 - 25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for optimizing the logistics operations through the application of Bluejay optimization tools, implementing warehouse crossdock strategies, designing efficient logistics processes, and planning dock utilization. This role presents a significant opportunity for cost reduction and aims to minimize delays impacting production. Additionally, the Logistics Analyst will oversee the management of the fork truck fleet, addressing issues related to cost overruns, damage claims, and short-term rentals.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilize Bluejay optimization tools to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
2. Implement and oversee warehouse crossdock strategies to streamline operations and minimize handling.
3. Design and implement efficient logistics processes, ensuring seamless coordination between various stages of the Supply Chain.
4. Plan and optimize dock utilization to minimize congestion and delays.
5. Identify opportunities for significant cost reduction within the logistics operations.
6. Analyze logistics data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
7. Develop and implement strategies to reduce logistics-related impacts on production schedules.
8. Manage the fork truck fleet, including monitoring costs, addressing cost overruns, and optimizing utilization.
9. Handle and resolve damage claims related to fork truck operations.
10. Coordinate short-term rentals of fork trucks as needed to meet operational demands.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including warehouse personnel, transportation providers, and production teams, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
12. Provide regular reports and updates on logistics performance, highlighting key metrics and improvements.
13. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in logistics optimization.
14. Drive Cost reduction throughout the entire logistics process
Qualifications:
• HS Diploma / GED
• 3 years of experience in logistics operations, with a focus on optimization and cost reduction.
• Proficiency in using Bluejay optimization tools or similar logistics optimization software.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
• Experience in warehouse crossdock strategies and logistics process design.
• Knowledge of dock utilization planning and best practices.
• Familiarity with fork truck fleet management, including cost control and damage mitigation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Pay Details: 20.00 to 25.00 per hour
