Supplier Quality Engineer-Sensors

SUMMARY:

We are helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Supplier Quality Engineer - Sensors to improve Supplier Quality processes such as assessments, supplier management, part approval, and corrective actions.
We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. You have experience with sensor development, test and manufacturing processes (e.g. lidar, camera, radar, etc.). The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, driven, energetic, detailed and team oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess the capability of potential suppliers.
• Assess the manufacturability of new product designs and assist the engineering team/suppliers with improving and developing manufacturing processes.
• Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers, and provide feedback.
• Issue corrective action requests to suppliers and provide support with their resolution.
• Provide support to Manufacturing, Quality, and Vehicle Engineering regarding analysis and disposition of suspect supplier material.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Master's degree is preferred)
• Experience with sensor (lidar, camera, radar, etc.) development, test and manufacturing processes
• Experience with the manufacture of complex electromechanical and optomechanical assemblies
• Experience in manufacturing processes (e.g. PCB, PCBA, wire harnesses, stamping, and mechanical assembly)
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Experience using problem solving techniques (e.g. Six-Sigma, 8-Discipline, Pareto Charts, Regression Analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Fish Bone Analysis, Red-X, Is/Is Not)
• Experience using quality analysis and control tools (e.g. Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Process Capability)
• Fully literate in Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• 4+ years of experience in quality, Supplier Quality, or manufacturing in one of the following industries:
  • Automotive, aviation, computer, or medical device
• Experience creating and improving quality systems
• Working knowledge of quality systems (e.g. ISO 9000 and IATF 16949)
• Certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt
