Supplier OnBoarding and Training Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supplier OnBoarding and Training Specialist is responsible for assisting in On Boarding new and potential suppliers/vendors as well as supplier support with the supplier portal. This person should have strong background in data management for Supplier Services daily/monthly reporting. The successful candidate will exercise judgment and demonstrate strong analytical skills to problem solve issues, analyze data and improve Supplier Kaizen on behalf of the team. This is a "learning role" here at MISUMI- you'll learn the distribution business, supplier management and will grow from this role into other areas within the business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Sales/Product Development to develop prototype components per customer requirements.
• Analyze data sets for daily/monthly reports to improve operations.
• Monitor the quality, delivery and level of customer service of each supplier.
• Resolve any problems with the On Boarding of new/potential suppliers.
• Improve efficiency of supplier management, supplier qualification, and supplier ordering process through the use of the supplier portal.
• Improve the performance of suppliers utilizing Supplier Scorecards .
• Improve productivity based on internal processes.
• Manage/train all local suppliers using supplier portal.
• Maintain/update Supplier documents/contracts per ISO standards.
• Acclimated to procurement from domestic and overseas distributors.
• 5-10% some traveling maybe required.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree related field or equivalent.
• A maximum of two (2) years supplier experience and data management experience desired.
• High proficiency in MS Office suite, Excel/Access. SQL is a plus.
• Excellent problem solving, detail oriented, training/material retention, interpersonal and conflict management skills is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
