Supervisory Police Officer

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER for the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY.Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing others in the provision of Law Enforcement (LE), Antiterrorism (AT), and Force Protection (FP) at installations; 2) Supervising others in performing LE, AT and FP functions; 3) Using advanced or specialized techniques, equipment and training to perform advance aspects of LE, AT and PS functions; 4) Interpreting LE AT and FP guidelines, rules, regulations and legal authorities to conduct preliminary and ongoing investigations of incidents, ranging from simple rule violations to felony and capital crimes within prescribed limitations; and 5) Applying the rules of evidence, the rights of individuals, and other procedures to make apprehensions, detaining and processing suspects, and protecting crime scenes. You must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM DOD or DON mental and emotional stablility screening, physical agility test, and medical screening.
You must successfully complete a required police training academy or equivalent course (e.g. Navy Police Officer Academy, a federal or miiltary police academy, or equivalent law enforcement training). You must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Levle I Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable) and OC refresher training. (Note: Police officers assigned to perform duties as members of a Harbor Patrol Unit (HPU) must be qualificed as Second Class swimmers and/or Bow Hooks/Coxswains, as applicable).Education: This job does not have an education qualification requirement.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
