Summary
As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.
Incumbent will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist in the Account & Access Management Branch, AIF-340.

Duties
The Account & Access Management Branch (AIF-340)
  • Authenticates and organizes user accounts and services on the FAA network
  • Oversees the effective delivery of directory and account management services, designates and enforces access rights across the network, tracks and updates individual and group directory accounts, establishes policies and standards for individual and group objects, and makes updates to directory services based on patches and security needs
  • Creates accounts, creates groups, runs Lightweight Directory Access Protocol queries, and helps integrate PIV in the FAA environment
  • Manages file shares and permissions of both home and shared user files and folders
  • Troubleshoots and resolves associated service degradations and outages

The incumbent of this position will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist in the Account & Access Management Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Communicate the organization's vision and objectives.
  • Serve as a front-line supervisor at the Branch level reporting to the Operations Division Manager; assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work.
  • Monitor and evaluate yearly performance reviews, approving Time and Attendance (T&A).
  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained, supported and informed.
  • Coach and develop employees; recommending or approving corrective or disciplinary actions.
  • Resolve routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit.
  • Oversee, track, and provide consultative services to aid development teams in remediation of security vulnerabilities, POA&Ms, and other application security defects for some Authentication Services managed systems.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, assessing and maintaining the appropriate system-level information system security controls in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NIST 800-53 (as amended), federal government-wide laws regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Providing expert advice, counsel, and instruction to management on user and group account issues to support missions and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT Security (AIS) in developing policies, plans, and procedures to ensure the continued reliability, security and accessibility of AIF managed systems for users and data infrastructure across datacenter and cloud environments.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is: Experience collaborating with peers and other organizations to facilitate capacity planning, work in-take, project management, incident management and workforce management to support Microsoft Active Directory, Hybrid Exchange and Microsoft O365 in a large network environment.
