Position Summary:
Reports to the finance manager. Responsible for performing purchasing and supply work for the facility in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.
Essential Functions:
Plan, organize, and implement the preparation of specifications for commodities and equipment.
Prepare purchase orders and other procurement documentation.
Coordinate the preparation of emergency and spot requisition requests for local purchase of items.
Inspect all incoming shipments to ensure required specifications are met.
Maintain perpetual inventory controls through the use of established systems including computerized programs.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, and issue of warehouse items.
Supervise the work of inmates assigned to the property area. Provide training on handling stock, record keeping, warehousing methods, and applicable policies and procedures.
This position requires long periods of standing and walking.
Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertion.
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience in inventory control or shipping and receiving preferred. Valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
