Jefferson Healthcare (www.jeffersonhealthcare.org) is looking for a full timeSterile Processing Supervisor to join our Surgical Services team. Our staff and providers are committed to providing the very best patient care to the community and this supervisor will help this goal.
The supervisor will perform or oversee quality control activities related to Sterile Processing and Central Supply, ensuring staff compliance with best practices and hospital policy. They will also Coach, mentor, precept, motivate and supervise team members while influencing staff to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required; Associate degree Preferred
- Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST)
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) Preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Room experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements
- Ability to learn new skills in a timely manner, absorbing details & applying learned skills
- Exhibits independent judgment
- Possesses a commitment towards ongoing professional & self-development.

Responsibilities:
- Performs or oversees quality control activities related to Sterile Processing and Central Supply, ensuring staff compliance with best practices and hospital policy.
- Coordinates and prioritizes instrument reprocessing schedule to meet the needs of the OR, endoscopy suite and clinic instrument pathways.
- Coordinates with vendors and representatives to address needs for quality products and services, ensure timely and appropriate delivery and inventory of loaner instruments.
- Establishes and evaluates par levels and manages disposable inventory in partnership with Materials Management department.
- Monitors surgery schedule to ensure sufficient supplies and instruments are on hand.
- Provides input on service contract negotiations, capital purchases, departmental upgrades.
- Effectively collaborates with Biomed department for repairs and maintenance of reprocessing equipment.
- Manages backorders and communicates as warranted.
- Coach, mentor, precept, motivate and supervise team members while influencing staff to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
- Ensure staff compliance with quality. Performs & provides oversight Quality Control / Assurance activities as assigned.
- Maintains competency and currency in area of specialty through continuing education
- Participates in the development & attainment of department goals
- Anticipates, identifies & manages problems & implements solutions which are operating room & endoscopy room specific
- Assists with the orientation of new employees and also ongoing competency assessment & training of hospital and clinic staff in relation to Sterile Processing
