Supervise the activities that provide sterile products to any user cost center in the appropriate quantities and locations and ensure acceptable and predetermined quality standards. Supervise and coordinate work flow in the instrument room, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments used throughout Preoperative Services, Endoscopy, Cathlab, and others.

- Supervise inventory planning of surgical instrumentation for all procedural areas and Sterile Processing
- Promotes the principle of sterility & packaging integrity by ensuring all surgical instruments are handled in a manner consistent with principals supporting infection control & are in accordance with institutional and departmental policies
- Communicates with other perioperative leaders to ensure continuity of information
- Provides a safe working environment for fellow employees.
- Trouble shoots equipment malfunctions
- Ensure vendors are following proper protocol when delivering instruments to be processed and picking up instrumentation leaving the hospital
- Supervise product acquisition process; reorder, receive storage and distribution
- Select, develop, supervise and evaluate departmental staff, ensuring adequate daily staffing
- Analyze and coordinate daily surgery schedule and corresponding preference lists
- Supervise and coordinate work flow in multiple Sterile Processing areas
- Maintain high standards in customer satisfaction to meet customer service outcomes
- Provides data needed for planning, decisionmaking, improving productivity, resolving problems and abiding by regulations.
- Ensure all ANSI/AAMI STD79 standards are being followed and Sterile Processing staff are educated to any changes
Required Education and Experience
- CRCST Certification
- One (1) year of experience in discipline with Bachelor's degree, OR Five (5) years of experience in discipline, OR Master’s degree and no experience
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
- Extensive instrument knowledge and product/inventory management
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
