Job description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Oversees the daily operations and activities of staff, providing direction, support and guidance as appropriate. Monitors the efficiency and efficacy of the team, ensuring all patient and customer questions/concerns are addressed appropriately and professionally in a timely manner. Coordinates materials, locations, and visits for the Pharmacy Service Group to ensure contacts between FMCRx and customer sites flow smoothly and properly. Provides system and process training for FMCRx operation's employees, assisting in cross- training between different positions as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists pharmacy and service team leaders, supervisors, managers, and directors in identifying effective practices applicable to their needs, in testing for desired results, and the adoption and implementation of these practices.
  • Analyzes, manages, and reports data as needed to identify improvement opportunities and measure the progress of improvement projects.
  • Collaborates with the department leadership team to: Set and achieve improved departmental processes, practices, and operational outcomes, identify risk areas and opportunities for improvement, and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Educates and advances the use of quality improvement tools to ensure adherence to CQI activities.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of CQI activities and provides recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
  • Technically proficient in the specific department and knowledge of industry practice and business principles. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Has a larger range within the department.
  • Experienced leadership required for multi-faceted environment; role primarily focuses on tactical execution. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Program or project responsibility generally within the function. Manages the operations of one or more departments, direct impact on a specific functional area. Manages the coordination of activities of a section or department with direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interprets and recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
  • Decisions have an impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.
  • Frequently interacts with supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers.
  • Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Often leading a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • Interacts with internal departments and external customers, particularly in problem resolution. Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Responsible for hiring, coaching, and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff and physicians. The essential functions of this position may involve frequent, prolonged periods of standing, significant periods of computer use and may require the lifting, moving or carrying of inventory/equipment (up to 25lbs).
  • The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
  • The position may require travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Travel to Regional, Divisional and Corporate meetings may be required on occasion.

SUPERVISION:
  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Operations staff.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • > 1-years' experience in Quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in customer service, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, and decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of CQI (Continuous quality improvement) principles.
  • A fundamental knowledge of pharmacy care is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Computer proficiencies: Microsoft Excel and/or Access, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated skills in diversity management and performance management.
  • Promotes and facilitates the implementation and integration of quality improvement activities within FreseniusRx.
  • Mentors and trains the FreseniusRx leadership team to monitor the effectiveness of their daily operational processes.
  • Promotes utilization of CQI principles to increase customer and staff satisfaction, and provide overall improved organizational performance.
  • Promotes the use of effective demonstrated practices and collaboration; sharing processes, procedures, and formulas for success.
