Description
Job Summary: As an expert in their field the Supervisor of Prevention provides front-line supervision, support, training, coaching and evaluation of assigned staff. The Supervisor ensures that all Agency processes, procedures and reporting in their assigned area are conducted efficiently, accurately and timely. The Supervisor serves as a mentor and role model to their team. The Supervisor of Prevention also manages and oversees the day-to-day activities of the gambling prevention and treatment grants. Coordinates with other programming within the prevention department to integrate gambling into primary prevention services. Coordinates with RR clinical department to promote gambling treatment and provides additional support to gambling counselors regarding grant deliverables. Collects and maintains data and completes required reports to funders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate staff. Determine staff assignments. Provide material resources and information needed for day-to-day operations.
- Prepare quarterly reports and annual program summaries to track and evaluate progress.
- Is an active member of the Agency's management team. Operate within the policies, procedures, mission, vision, and values of the Agency. Represent the Agency throughout the community.
- Attend staff meetings. Serve on Ad Hoc committees. Represent and advocate for programs, clients, and staff.
- Represent the Agency in collaborative work with other agencies and providers.
- Maintain appropriate licenses and credentials. Attend staff development and in-service training. Seek membership and affiliation with professional organizations.
- Adhere to established professional codes of ethics to maintain professional standards and safeguard the client.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates specialized team expertise in successfully managing work processes
- Provides day to day oversight and support of assigned team members ensuring accountability and compliance of documentation and staff performance in accordance with regulating agencies and Agency standards
- Conducts new hire on-boarding to acclimate new team members to agency culture and departmental specific training
- Participates proactively within Agency interdisciplinary teams to ensure highest quality of services
- Conducts regular supervision & meetings to sufficiently coach and evaluate staff work performance. Monitors individual and team performance outcomes (dashboards) with an open-door environment
- Manages administrative tasks such as: approving monthly PTO reports and time off requests; assigning and delegating workload and tasks; generating reports; interviewing potential new hire candidates; and participating in Agency committees and initiatives
- Demonstrates expertise in developing program materials and delivering educational presentations on problem gambling, and other addictions such as alcohol, substance abuse, and tobacco use
- Develops external relationships by responding promptly to calls regarding programs and services
- Is an effective and engaging trainer that readily adapts presentations to emerging health related topics
- Promotes general wellness and integrates prevention measures holistically
- Creates and prepares high quality program materials that contain accurate information and are engaging
- Outreaches to community organizations, businesses, and partner agencies to create awareness of and demand for program's services
- Develops client surveys, advertising and marketing materials
- Collects and analyzes data from presentations, referral sources and client surveys for reporting purposes, audits and continuous quality improvement
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities sufficient to perform essential functions
- Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree
Minimum Qualifications:
- CHES; OCPS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing, bending and moving.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
Business hours generally Monday through Friday, however some evening & weekend hours may be necessary to meet all client services / programs. Position may also be required to respond to emergencies (on-call) depending on program / level of care.
