How will you make an impact?
The End of Week Night Supervisor of our Packaging Team is a critical component for influencing and motivating direct reports to tackle new challenges, realize their full potential, and ultimately facilitate a positive and engaging work environment. You will lead a team of operators & mechanics to get results in the day-to-day operations. This individual will have the ability to manage career development plans, drive continuous improvement, ensure high level quality for our customers, and demonstrate cross- functional relationships to realize department objectives in alignment with organizational goals. In addition, this role will collaborate in improving the safety, delivery, and facilitate cost-saving projects throughout the department.
What will you do?
- Lead all employees in promoting world class safety.
- Cultivate a right first-time quality mentality by leading investigations into process failures and product failures.
- Identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Helps establish productivity performance goals and get results to hit organizational goals.
- Effectively reviews metrics to benchmark and drive team performance.
- Recommends and coordinates improvement activities production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Drives Practical Process Improvements (PPI) with a high level of team member involvement and engagement, and applies lean methodologies to realize process efficiencies.
- Works with team members and planning/purchasing teams to develop and implement a manufacturing schedule to meet customer demands.
- Participates in internal and external audits, responds to audit observations and identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Supports career development plans for direct reports.
- Creates and manages to an operational budget for 15-20 direct reports, including compensation, benefits, supplies and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure coordination and administration of training sessions as required, based on new SOPs and revisions to existing SOPs.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ in ISO or cGMP regulated manufacturing environment required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or relevant work experience.
- 1+ years of experience people management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must demonstrate strong leadership abilities with capability to leverage diverse resources, respond quickly, understand impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships and understand internal and external customer needs.
- ERP system knowledge and a basic understanding of cost accounting/standard manufacturing financials.
- Experience with Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Systems and Tools (or similar Continuous
- Improvement and Lean Systems).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and MS Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work with numerous departments and varying levels of employees.
- Requires knowledge of manufacturing processes and inter-departmental responsibilities
- Must ensure all team members work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials while adhering to ergonomic guidelines.
- Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to influence others without authority.
