Summary: Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite.
Supervises a combination of two or more of the following: machine shop, tool making, pipe-fitting, masonry, painting, electrical, carpentry or other skilled employees.
Responsible for training and development of staff, including: estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.

Working supervisor of a team (spends a portion of time performing the work supervised) or supervises the daily activities of team members
Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work
Responsible for results of the team
Provides direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices and practices Functional Leadership
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Engineering or Related degree; Bachelor;s degree preferred. Equivalent Combination of RelevantEducation &/ or Experience
- 0-3 Years experience in a relevant function
- 3-5 Years individual contributor experience in functional area
- Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Problem/situation analysis. Project management skills. Planning skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing Hydraulic systems.
- Simens PLC and Drive experience.
- Experience with metal forming equipment
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remainin a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
