The Fiber Construction Supervisor provides direct, day-to-day supervision and coordination for fiber construction including Fiber Splicing for inhouse and subcontractor splicers.

What you’ll do…

• You will supervise and implement the Company Construction Program ensuring that each jobsite utilizes the construction rules, practices, and policies.
• You will review dailies, timecards, and other financial reports for accuracy.
• You will represent the Company and interface with customers, developers, property owners, utilities, and municipalities.
• You will read and interpret outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints.
• You will assist other technical personnel in the performance of their duties when requested.
• You will work with paper/pulp splicing, tagging and restoration.
• You will build cable records, cut sheets and as-builts.
• You will maintain and repair the entire telephone loop/facilities.
• You will supervise the building of span lines, install repeaters, and perform tagging and testing functions on cable pairs to meet HDSL requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for…

• Knowledge of local cable facilities and fiber networks.
• Knowledge of bonding and grounding requirements of telecommunications plant.
• Knowledgeable of all test equipment used to identify and locate optical and copper faults (OTDR/VFL and power meter operation).
• Knowledge of and connecting bulkheads, splice trays, organizers, furcation kits and storage units.
• Experience in Outside Plant telecom functions.
• Experience in splicing fiber optics, some copper cables (various splice connectors).
• Proficient at working in aerial and buried outside plant environment.
• Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
• Working knowledge of analog and digital transmission.
• Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber-optic connectors including mechanical, anaerobic, epoxy polish, heat cured as well as pigtail splicing methods.
• Working knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products in regards to appropriate application.
• Working knowledge of various tests (Sidekick, 965 meter, DSP’s Exfo digital meter, Throw-master, OTDR’s.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Micro station drafting software.
• You have 5 or more years of progressive Plant experience.
• You have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• You may have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a related industry, or advanced training in the field.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
• You may have 1 or more years of personnel and functional leadership experience and/or project management experience.

The Pay range is commensurate with experience: $67,000/annual to $70,000/annual
